About

Founded by father-and-son duo Jeff and Paul McKnight, The Columbus Hotshots represent the next generation of professional pickleball in the heart of Ohio.

Built on a shared passion for competition, community, and excellence, the team embodies the McKnights’ vision of bringing world-class pickleball to Columbus and energizing fans across the Midwest.

As one of the region’s most dynamic professional pickleball franchises, the Hotshots are dedicated to showcasing top-tier athletic talent and inspiring the fast-growing pickleball community.

The team emphasizes teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship – values that reflect the McKnights’ own legacy of leadership and commitment.

More than a team, The Columbus Hotshots are a movement. Through local partnerships, youth outreach programs, and community engagement, the franchise is helping Columbus become a vibrant hub for America’s fastest-growing sport – where fans, families, and players come together to celebrate the energy and excitement of pickleball.

The league completed its third season in 2025, with 12 teams representing cities across the country – including Austin, Boca Raton, Coachella Valley, Columbus, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Naples, Oklahoma City, Princeton, and Seattle. There are approximately 200 Champions Pro players competing and the league is expanding with new teams and additional age groups in 2026. The additional new co-ed age divisions will be:

  • Prime Division: 40-50
  • Premier Division: 50-60
  • Masters Division: 60+

The recently announced partnership with Major League Pickleball unlocks tremendous opportunity across the board – including the chance to compete on a larger stage, increased visibility for players and teams, and stronger exposure for sponsors and stakeholders.
